Google Search Gets Real-Time Voice Chat with Gemini Integration

Google is enhancing its Search app with a new feature called Search Live, allowing users to engage in real-time voice conversations. This update transforms the search experience into a more natural, human-like interaction.
Users can now ask questions aloud and receive instant spoken answers, with the ability to explore related links directly within the chat. The feature operates in the background, enabling multitasking like texting or scrolling while conversing with Search.
Powered by a customized version of Google’s Gemini AI, Search Live aims to provide more intuitive and conversational responses. Initially, it’s available to Labs users in the U.
S. for voice interactions, with camera integration planned for future rollout.
This allows users to point their phone at an object and receive instant information. Transcripts of conversations are saved, allowing users to revisit or continue past chats.
Google’s move with Search Live positions it competitively against AI-powered search alternatives like Perplexity AI and ChatGPT Search.
