Proton Pass Now Stores Files and Custom Data, Becoming an ‘Everything Manager’

Proton Pass, a popular password manager, has finally added a crucial feature: secure data storage for non-password items. Previously, users could not store files, software licenses, important notes, or IDs directly within the app, limiting its utility compared to competitors like 1Password.
This update allows Proton Pass to function as an ‘everything manager,’ not just a password manager. Users can now save up to 10GB of files and create up to 14 new item types, including medical records, Wi-Fi settings, and driver’s licenses.
The platform also offers fully customizable items for unique data storage needs. All stored data, like passwords, remains end-to-end encrypted for enhanced security.
This new capability means users can store sensitive information such as family emergency plans, recovery phrases, Bitcoin wallet logins, passport details, and SSH keys. While the core password management remains free, the expanded data storage feature is available on premium plans, starting at $2.
