Samsung’s 200MP Zoom Cameras Go to Other Android Brands, Not Samsung

Samsung is supplying its advanced 200-megapixel telephoto camera sensors to other Android manufacturers, despite not using them in its own Galaxy phones. Currently, Samsung’s “Ultra” models feature these high-resolution sensors as their main camera.
However, the company sells its HP3, HP5, and HP9 telephoto sensors to other brands. Chinese smartphone makers are increasingly adopting this technology for their flagship devices.
Vivo’s X200 Ultra notably features a 200MP periscope lens, receiving praise for its performance. Reputable leaker Ice Universe indicated that more Chinese brands will integrate Samsung’s HP3, HP5, and HP9 sensors.
This widespread adoption by competitors suggests a strong market for these specialized zoom cameras. It remains uncertain if Samsung will eventually incorporate its 200MP zoom technology into its own Galaxy lineup.
The company, a pioneer in smartphone zoom capabilities, could significantly enhance its phone cameras by utilizing its own innovations.
